challenge video blog Philip Tracey hats!

#4: design a look
inspired by one of
Philip Treacy hats that were just fabulous!
What a creative artist. I loved so many, but eventually I settled on the hat
that was also a mask made of leather and lace. It seemed a bit mischievous and
reminded me of the scene from Marie Antoinette, where they sneak away to the
masquerade ball...
here are photos of my
completed look: A little dress/tunic made from a previously, very unattractive
fabric that I used color remover and bleach on to give it a lighter and worn
esthetic...it is very me but I do not know how Project Runway the look would
have been....Well, I loved making this piece, hope you love it too!
winner: michael

again, sparkly and shiny. I
actually wore it for a magazine shoot this morning...the only thing I would
change is possibly making it longer as a gown because it is so beautifully
imperfect!

copper paint, glue, metal studs and a black boa. How did I do compared to the
designers? Take my pole and let me know!

#2: design a look
for a Maria Claire billboard in Times Square. All day to complete the look plus
a couple hours day two, and $150 budget. Gretchen was the winner again with her
simplified design. Unfortunately Jason and Nicholas both went home. Here is my
piece in progress, I will post the final look shortly. Kind of bohemian 70's
sexy vibe. I like my gold sequins dress on its own but needed a more
conservative look for the Maria Claire challenge. Definitely stuck to my own
design esthetic this time and had much more fun in the creative process. I will
post the video soon!
